HISTORICAL SOCIETY
 
The Heritage Centre contains books, documents, maps, memorabilia, audio recordings, scrap books, newspapers, CDs & DVDs,  and a computerised and indexed archive of over 18,000 photographs of Wigston and surrounding areas.
 
The Centre also has computers with internet access and a wealth of records for genealogical research for Wigston, as well as further afield.
 
The Centre is open for free viewing of archive material by Society Members and the General Public on Friday each week from 10.00am until 2.00pm. . When the Centre is open, there are volunteers on-site with an interest in Wigston History and Family History. Railway Corner contains books, magazines, memorabilia, historical documents, hundreds of photographs, and maps of the "Wigston Triangle" railway system in South Wigston
WE NOW INCLUDE COUNTESTHORPE DATA IN THE HERITAGE CENTRE
 
 
The premises is the Fenix Pharmacy on the corner of Canal Street and Blaby Road.We have space for our displays, and a lockable newly decorated room to house our computers and "Railway Corner". Internet access will be supplied to the room.
 
Some of you may remember the premises used to house the County Music Store run by Charles Moore and his family
